Job Summary:

As a Painter at our storage building fabrication company, you will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other coatings to various materials, such as wood and metal, to provide a professional and lasting finish to our storage buildings. You will work closely with our fabrication team to ensure that each project is completed to the highest standard while adhering to safety protocols and deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the required materials, techniques, and colors for each project.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, filling cracks, and removing old paint or coatings.
• Select and mix appropriate paints, varnishes, and other coatings based on project requirements and desired outcomes.
• Apply paint and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, ensuring even and consistent coverage and a professional finish.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and disposing of hazardous waste properly.
• Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to project specifications, making any necessary touch-ups or corrections.
• Collaborate with other team members, including fabricators, welders, and designers, to ensure a cohesive and efficient workflow.
• Maintain painting equipment, including cleaning, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, techniques, and safety regulations to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a professional painter, preferably in the storage building or construction industry.
• Knowledge of various painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Experience painting on wood and metal surfaces.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks within assigned deadlines.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to painting and construction.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and equipment as needed.
